Amber Ruffin
It’s not just an urban legend; Amber Ruffin is joining us On the Couch! Although she has an illustrious career as a comedy writer for television, including “The Amber Ruffin Show” and as a long-time writer for “Late Night with Seth Meyers,” her new musical brings a famous cryptid hero to the stage. Taking some time between opening her musical Bigfoot! at New York City Center, Amber walks us through her favorite margarita recommendation and how she goes through life with perpetual positivity. What do you consider to be your best asset?
My attitude. I’m generally happy and it comes in handy when things get tense.
What was your proudest moment?
My proudest moment might be when we started “The Amber Ruffin Show.” That first bow was pretty cool.
What is your favorite drink?
I honestly love the frozen pomegranate margaritas at Rosa Mexicano. They make me so happy.
What is your favorite food?
Cheesecake Factory till I die.
What is your favorite condiment?
I like ranch. I’m from the midwest.
What is your current obsession?
I’m obsessed with skincare. This will last another month and then I will move on to something else.
If you could give up one of your vices, what would it be?
I don’t have any vices. I have earned all my bad behavior.
What is the one professional accomplishment you long for most?
I’m so far beyond what I thought I was ever gonna achieve that I’m completely without longing. I’m just out here livin’ it up!
What is the one thing you waste too much money on?
Eating out. I have to stay my behind at home.
What is the one activity you waste too much time doing?
Social media. It has to stop. Please take my phone away.

To muscle through everything instead of taking a minute for rest.

I don’t get irritated when people have fun. I like it!

I embarrass myself in new ways every day of my humiliating life. It’s very fun.

Wherever my loved ones are.

Silliness.
