New York, NY (October 19, 2026) – Tectonic Theater Project (Moisés Kaufman, Founder & Artistic Director; Matt Joslyn, Executive Director), Brian & Dayna Lee, Bruce Roberts, Sue Vaccaro, & Ricky Stevens today announced the production’s landmark student ticket access initiative bringing at least 7,500 students to the Barrymore Theatre (243 West 47th Street) to experience the highly anticipated new play Here There Are Blueberries, written by Moisés Kaufman and Amanda Gronich, and directed by Kaufman.

This remarkable initiative, supported by a group of generous underwriters, reflects the productions’ commitment to making Here There Are Blueberries accessible to the next generation of theatergoers. Students will encounter the astonishing true story behind the play and grapple with the questions it raises about history, complicity, and what ordinary people choose not to see.

Starting today, an initial allotment of 5,500 tickets will go on sale for just $10 per ticket exclusively at the Barrymore Theatre box office. Students must have a valid ID to purchase these subsidized $10 tickets (limited to two tickets per student). Tickets can be purchased for advance performances during the show’s run, subject to availability.

For groups of 10+ students, please fill out this form with the desired performance dates and number of tickets to reserve tickets at $10 each. For questions, reach out to tickets@tectonictheaterproject.com. Subsidized tickets are limited. Requests will be reviewed on a first-come, first-served basis.

Additionally, more than 2,000 New York City public school students and educators representing all five boroughs will attend Here There Are Blueberries free of charge at two special matinee performances through a partnership with New York City’s Department of Education through the DOE’s Theatre Program. For many of them, it will be their first time seeing a show in a Broadway theater.

“The opportunity to bring thousands of students to Broadway for just $10 is nothing short of remarkable,” said Susan Lee of Broadway Education Alliance. “Here There Are Blueberries tells a story that is essential for young people to experience; challenging them to confront difficult questions about our history and the choices we make. To make a production of this significance accessible to so many students is an extraordinary gift, and one that we hope will leave a lasting impact long after they leave the theater.”

The Student Ticket Access Initiative is made possible by the generous underwriting of a number of committed supporters, including The Gray Foundation, Pritzker Pucker Family Foundation, Marcia & John Goldman, Irwin Jacobs, Claudia & Kevin Bright, Shofar Fund, The Rosalinde and Arthur Gilbert Foundation, Jeff Schoenfeld & Matt Holbein, Joanna & Robert Meisel, and Laura & Gary Lauder.

Fundraising for the initiative is ongoing. Interested donors may reach out to Zena Hinds, Deputy Director, at zena@tectonictheaterproject.org.

Here There Are Blueberries will play a strictly limited 10-week engagement with previews beginning Monday, November 2, at the Barrymore Theatre (243 West 47th Street). Opening night is set for Monday, November 9. The run will end on Sunday, January 10, 2027.

Tickets for Here There Are Blueberries can also be purchased at telecharge.com, by calling Telecharge at 212-239-6200 or at the Barrymore Theatre box office.

Here There Are Blueberries begins with an extraordinary real-life mystery. In 2007, an album of Nazi-era photographs arrived at the desk of a U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum archivist. The photographs weren’t like any that had been seen before. As curators unraveled the truth behind the images, the album soon made headlines and ignited a debate that reverberated far beyond the museum walls.

Based on real events, Here There Are Blueberries tells the story of these historical photographs – what they reveal about the perpetrators of the Holocaust, and our own humanity.

The Here There Are Blueberries creative team includes two-time Tony Award winner Derek McLane (scenic design), Tony Award winner Dede Ayite (costume design), Drama Desk Award winner David Lander (lighting design), Bobby McElver (sound design), OBIE Award winner David Bengali (projection design), Stephanie Yankwitt, CSA (casting director), Amy Marie Seidel (dramaturg), and Erin Gioia Albrecht (production stage manager).

In addition to being named a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize, the original New York production won two Lucille Lortel Awards, including Outstanding Play, and was nominated for Outstanding New Play by the Outer Critics Circle Awards and Drama League Awards.

Here There Are Blueberries had its first workshop production at Miami New Drama and received its world premiere at La Jolla Playhouse in 2022. The play premiered Off-Broadway in 2024 as a co-production at New York Theatre Workshop.

Here There Are Blueberries is produced by Tectonic Theater Project (Moisés Kaufman, Founder & Artistic Director; Matt Joslyn, Executive Director), Brian & Dayna Lee, Bruce Roberts, Sue Vaccaro, & Ricky Stevens, and Executive Producer 101 Productions, Ltd./Chris Morey. The general manager is Evan Bernardin Productions with production management by Sightline Productions. Here There Are Blueberries is a co-production with La Jolla Playhouse and is produced in association with Michael Hormel and Midnight Theatricals.
