Each year at Commencement, Carnegie Mellon has the privilege of honoring individuals whose leadership, creativity, and discoveries have expanded what is possible — and whose work reflects the values they aim to instill in their graduates: excellence, imagination, courage, and impact. Honorary degrees — which are among Carnegie Mellon’s highest recognitions — reflect the ideals that it holds for the university and the kind of impact that it hope its graduates will pursue in the world.
