JOINS THE COMPANY OF
“HEATED RIVALRY:

AS ‘SHANE HOLLANDER’
ADDITIONAL CASTING ANNOUNCED!
New York, NY (August 4, 2026) – Producer Alan Kliffer announced today the following casting updates taking place at Heated Rivalry: The Unauthorized Musical Parody over the next few weeks.
Fresh off of the sold-out Canadian concert production that took place earlier this month, Broadway veteran Aaron Alcaraz will step into the role of ‘Shane Hollander’ beginning Thursday, August 13 – Sunday, August 30. Jimin Moon will play their final performance in the production on Wednesday, August 12. Casting for the role of ‘Shane’ beyond August 30 will be announced at a later date.
Additionally, current company member Shelby Acosta will assume the role of ‘Shane’s Mom & Others’ beginning Thursday, September 10. Cherry Torres will take her final bow in the production on Wednesday, September 9. Lastly, Sujaya Sunkara has joined the production as ‘Understudy for Main Susan, Shane’s Mom, Ilya’s Dad.’

Originally scheduled as an 8-week run, the critically acclaimed production has been has been extended twice and is playing Off-Broadway at The Culture Club (530 W 27th St) through Sunday, November 1. Tickets are on sale now and available at https://www.heatedrivalryparody.com/.
Inspired by the hit show about hockey, Heated Rivalry: The Unauthorized Musical Parody follows starry-eyed golden boy Shane Hollander on his journey from power center to power bottom.
Relive all of the moments from the show that made you wet (with tears) up close on the small-stage by an incredible cast of Broadway actors who thought they were auditioning to be in Season 2. Sporting a bop-infused score, scene-stealing cameos by characters like “Rose Landry” and “Ilya’s Ass”, and time jumps absolutely no one can keep track of, audiences will find themselves hot, bothered, and probably saying, “….Girl!”

The current cast features Jay Armstrong Johnson as ‘Ilya Rozanov’ and Jimin Moon as Shane Hollander, with Ryann Redmond, Cherry Torres, and Ryan Duncan rounding out the ensemble, and Shelby Acosta and Daniel Brackett as standbys.

AARON ALCARAZ (Shane Hollander August 13-30) is an actor based in New York City and Los Angeles. He has been seen on Broadway in Back To The Future, Here Lies Love, and Mean Girls, as well as Off-Broadway in Trevor The Musical. Other favorite theatre credits include the national tours of Mean Girls and Rent, and the world premiere of the musical Invincible. Film and television credits include Trevor the Musical on Disney+, “Law & Order: Organized Crime”, “The Equalizer”, “FBI”, and “Blue Bloods.” Thank you to the Heated Rivalry fam and to his team at DGRW and Vanguard.
