“Tempress” Chasity Moore
It takes an icon to play an icon – and this week’s guest On the Couch, “Tempress” Chasity Moore, comes prepared. Currently making her Broadway debut as the legendary Grizabella in CATS: The Jellicle Ball, Tempress brings a lifetime of Ballroom experience and elegance to the runway at the Broadhurst Theatre every night. She took some time away from bringing down the house with her deeply felt (and Betty Buckley-approved) 11 o’clock number “Memory” to sit down with us. Read our interview below.
What do you consider to be your best asset?
My personality! Once u get to know me, I’m addictive
What was your proudest moment?
Giving up all the bad things that were keeping me from accomplishing my dreams and goals
What is your favorite drink?
I’m truly a water drinker but outside of that would be a tie between ginger ale and matcha
What is your favorite food?
Seafood!!!!
What is your favorite condiment?
Garlic
What is your current obsession?
Ugh! Drama filled reality shows I truly need to stop!
If you could give up one of your vices, what would it be?
Procrastinating, although I do have ADHD
What is the one professional accomplishment you long for most?
I would say EGOT! But we can start with a regular on a popular tv show, a leading role in a movie and putting music out. Sorry I couldn’t choose one lol
What is the one thing you waste too much money on?
Internet shopping between supplements, hair and skincare
What is the one activity you waste too much time doing?
Scrolling online
What do you consider to be the single greatest threat to your health?
Not staying consistent in the gym apart of my lifestyle. I’ve also been on a journey of removing silicone from my body that I got when I was a lot younger foolishly. I removed most of it with a very expensive and difficult surgery, but unfortunately you can’t get it all out at once
What’s the single best trait you inherited or learned from your parents?
Never give up! Be strong
What’s the single worst trait you inherited or learned from your parents?
Overthinking, and sometimes feeling like u have to be so strong that u suppress emotions
What in the world most thrills you?
Traveling, learning and seeing new things
What current trend in popular culture most irritates you?
Making a fool out of yourself for likes
What was the most embarrassing moment you’ve ever experienced on the job?
Thinking I was cute and my wig had slightly slid back and I didn’t know!!
What is your favorite place in the world?
I haven’t been yet but, I have a feeling it’s going to be Greece
What is the most important trait you seek in a romantic partner?
Ambitious, confident, intelligent I know that’s more than one but hey lol
Do you prefer the company of dogs or cats?
Dogs, although I grew up around mostly cats
What would have to happen to make today the best day of your life?
I make an investment that was guaranteed to secure my future or receive enough money that would keep me and my mom comfortable for the rest of our lives. Where I would be able to still accomplish my dreams and goals and not worry about bills, life etc
